The Loons Theatre Trust has established itself in its new home at the Lyttelton Arts Factory - LAF - in an exciting new partnership with Lyttelton Primary School and the Ministry of Education.
The ultimate aim of creating LAF, the Lyttelton Arts Factory, has begun. In May 2016 we moved into the brand new facility at Lyttelton Primary School - where the facility now doubles as a school hall by day and the LAF performing arts venue evenings, weekends and holidays. It will be a place where all the strands of Loons Theatre Trust activity come together in a single purpose-built theatrical venue. Once again the Trust will have a place to create original New Zealand theatre, stage a raft of community events and teach the performing arts to young and old. It is a bold vision but one that Mike and Darryl and the company have already demonstrated they can fulfil.
“As your city regenerates it’s so positive to see what you are all doing in the rebuilding of the arts in Christchurch. I wish you every success in 2015 and look forward to viewing the final designs for your new Loons theatre!”
- Emily Blunt, Patron of The Loons Theatre Trust
